Yikes, it feels like Raemi is growing by leaps and bounds! Not so much physically, but in all the new things she is learning to do! Her vocabulary is expanding, her newest word is "Dath" (Dash) our kitty. She thinks he is the BEST!!! She calls him whenever she sees him, and a lot of times crawls around looking for him and calling him even when he's not around. He seems to enjoy antagonizing her, too. He'll get near her and plop down on the ground then leap away as soon as she makes it to him...or even walk up to her and run off right before she can grab him. Of course occasionally he underestimates her and she catches him.

Fortunately for Raemi he doesn't try to bite her or anything, just dashes away more quickly the next time.

Oh, and you'll notice the very large stuffed doggie in that picture. Well, it used to swallow her.

And when she first started crawling we'd put in a doorway to act as a gate, lol. However, she has now learned to crawl over the big dog, thus necesitating the purchase of an actual gate.

Speaking of overcoming obstacles, she has figured out how to get to Dash when he goes underneath her crib to taunt him. She used to crawl up to the front of the crib and be unable to do anything but try to reach him through the crib rails. Then she decided to get all the way down on the floor and lie flat to try to get under the crib (with the rail down the side of the crib is only about 6 inches off the ground). It was a good idea, but she couldn't move forward while lying flat. Well, yesterday she finally figured out she could crawl around to the end of the crib and crawl under!

Of course she hasn't figured out how to get back out once she gets under there, and just gets upset that she's trapped, so I have to crawl under the crib myself and rescue her.

Oh, and last but not least, she's balancing while standing for 10 seconds or more at a time without holding on to anything, and getting better everyday! Yesterday she started being able to balance while waving a toy around. Unfortunately (or fortunately, if you're sick of my pictures)I don't have a picture of that, though.
